Calhoun to return to UConn for 2009-10 season!

Friday, April 10th, 2009

AP

Several outlets have reported the return of Jim Calhoun to the coaching post at Connecticut for the 2009-10 Men’s Basketball season.

What does he have waiting for him? Well, beyond the obvious questions on recruiting tactics, Fox Sports feels he has a top 15 program while Sports Illustrated is fairly more optimistic calling it a top 5 team.

Regardless, it’s good to have the coach returning to the program he helped build.

On the edge of a dream …

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009

Ever been close to a dream being realized?

Confusingous is right there. First, he will be attending the Final Four this weekend and see his Huskies go for a 3rd National Championship. So one dream nears realization.

However, the location, Detroit, allows for the realization of a second dream.

Our Resident Seer is obsessed with Tim Hortons. Could it be that Tim Horton was a former Ranger? Could it be that it serves coffee and donuts? Could it be all of the above? Regardless, Detroit has 100’s of these bad boys in and around it’s vicinity. There is like 50 of them in Windsor!

So close to a dream. So close.

Only time will tell. But, Confusingous predicts three Big East teams will join him in Detroit for the Final Four. UConn, Lousiville and ‘Nova. UNC will spoil the Big East lovefest with a quarterfinal defeat of Syracuse.

The Seer has spoken.

2009 International Bowl – UConn v. Buffalo

Friday, January 2nd, 2009

Who would have thought? Not too long ago these two teams were ranked at the bottom (literally) of Division I-A rankings. And tomorrow, January 3, 2009, these schools will be playing in a bowl game!

The teams both accepted the invitation to play in the International Bowl which will be held in Toronto at The Rogers Centre. Connecticut will be playing in it’s 3rd bowl game while Buffalo will be playing in it’s first (although this is the 2nd invitation for the school).

A thought during Bowl Season -

Monday, December 29th, 2008

If a team has the possibility to end the season with a losing record by losing their bowl game, Confusingous feels they should not be in a bowl game. Regardless of their conference or their name. Our Seer is looking at you, Notre Dame.
